In 2006 he survived an agonising delay when play was suspended in the final round at San Roque Club due to flooding on the golf course. When he was called off the course, he was facing a tough two putt from 60 feet on the last green to secure his European Tour card. Despite the inclement weather, and the horrible wait to decide is own fate, he made his par. It was a disappointing rookie season, however, with too many missed cuts contributing to 196th place in the Order of Merit. Made a promising start to the 2011 season, losing out to Louis Oosthuizen in a play-off, which also featured Chris Wood, for the Africa Open title.
