Kristoffer Reitan has become just the second HotelPlanner Tour alumni to make the PGA TOUR Championship in their rookie season in the United States.
The Norwegian’s performances across the campaign have seen him cement himself as one of the best players in the world, currently sitting in 20th place on the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Standings. Reitan cemented his position with a three under par 67 on the final day of the BMW Championship, to climb to 22nd spot in St. Louis.
The 28-year-old has enjoyed a stellar rookie season on the PGA TOUR, making the cut in 16 of his 21 starts, which saw him finish inside the top ten on four occasions, including at the signature Truist Championship, where he sealed his maiden victory, and, in turn, secured his PGA Tour card for through 2027.
The win came just two weeks after a second placed finish at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, where himself and compatriot Kris Ventura finished just one-stroke behind English brothers Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick in the season’s only team event.
Reitan earned promotion to the DP World Tour in 2024 when he finished seventh on the Road to Mallorca Rankings, largely thanks to his triumph at the Rolex Grand Final supported by the R&A, which moved him up 27 places on the season-long Rankings.
A fruitful 2025 followed for Reitan with a win at the Soudal Open in May which was followed up with a win over a high-calibre field at the Nedbank Gold Challenge in honour of Gary Player in December, before the Norwegian made the step up to the PGA TOUR at the start of 2026.
Reitan is just the second HotelPlanner Tour alumni to earn their spot at the season ending TOUR Championship in their rookie year, as he joins Matthieu Pavon, who achieved the same feat in 2024. Reitan will tee it up alongside fellow HotelPlanner Tour alumni in Tommy Fleetwood, Ryan Fox, Robert Macintyre, Justin Rose and the Fitzpatrick brothers in the 30-man field in Atlanta.
