Won his first US Tour event, the Walt Disney World/Oldsmobile Classic, under floodlights after 36 holes were played on the final day due to earlier weather problems. Solid performer in his three Ryder Cups to date, enjoying a record of six wins and five defeats, the most recent being his loss to Open champion Paul Lawrie in the final single at Brookline in 1999.
