Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship: Fantasy DP World Tour Powered by Axi ones to watch

The DP World Tour Play-Offs get under this week as we head to Yas Links for the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship.

Here is everything that players of Fantasy DP World Tour need to know.

The fourth Rolex Series event of the year sees the top 70 available players from the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World tee it up as they battle for dual membership with the PGA Tour and the biggest prize of the season - the Harry Vardon Trophy.

Eugenio Chacarra, a three-time winner in 2026, leads the way on that front but Patrick Reed, Rory McIlroy and Casey Jarvis could all have top spot by Sunday evening.

With enhanced points on offer this week and next, the battle for PGA Tour cards looks set to go to the wire, with Joe Dean currently sitting in the tenth and final spot.

US PGA Championship winner Aaron Rai defends the title he won 12 months ago as he seeks a third Rolex Series triumph, while former World Number One Jon Rahm makes his event debut.

Who are the most backed players?

Rai is well fancied to defend his title this week by players of our game, featuring in 66% of teams as the most picked player so far.

Norwegian Kristoffer Reitan is next on 44%, nearly three percentage points clear of former World Number One Adam Scott, with Rahm and UAE resident Tommy Fleetwood rounding out the top five.

What is the Axi Edge Score?

The Axi Edge Score made a spectacular debut earlier this month as it tipped Jeff Winther, with the Dane going on to win his second DP World Tour title at the Danish Golf Championship on home soil.

The Axi Edge Score is a rating from 0-100 combining form, consistency and upside into a single score making it easier to compare players and gain the edge on your rivals.

The score is built entirely from data the Fantasy game already produces, via a composite golfer rating as follows:

Skill (50%)

What it measures: How well is this golfer scoring right now?

• Average fantasy points per tournament over the golfer's last five completed events

Consistency (30%)

What it measures: How reliable is this golfer?

• % of last five tournaments where the golfer finished above the field median Fantasy score

Risk (20%)

What it measures: How volatile is this player from week-to-week?

• Best single-tournament Fantasy score in the last five events

Who has the Edge?

Eugenio Chacarra

With a barely believable 99/100 Edge score, Chacarra is the man to beat according to our data which has already made the right pick twice this season. The latest time it was right was at he DP World India Championship which was won by - you guessed it - Chacarra. That added to wins in the Nerherlands and Italy and moved him to the top of the Rankings where he will be battling so hard to stay for the next two weeks. He played eight events across the Back 9, sealing a win, second, third and fourth, no missed cuts and a worst finish of 36th. Another good result this week would see him take a big step towards joining Seve Ballesteros and Jon Rahm as a Spanish winner of the Harry Vardon Trophy.

Favourite - Rory McIlroy

Most weeks an in-form Rankings leader would be the Favourite but normal rules don't apply when Rory McIlroy is in play. The World Number Two may have finished outside the top 40 in three of his last four starts but his other result was second in elite company at the BMW PGA Championship and, perhaps more importantly, he loves desert golf. Outside of the Majors and World Golf Championships, seven of McIlroy's 12 DP World Tour wins have come in the UAE and while they may have all been in Dubai, his Abu Dhabi record is also oustanding. In 14 appearances at this event he has four runner-up finishes and six thirds, with two of those third-places coming at Yas Links in the last two seasons. Abu Dhabi owes him one and Rory usually collects.

Form Horse - Yuto Katsuragawa

From seemingly out of nowhere, the Japanese has emerged as a back-to-back worldwide winner. He was 106th in the Rankings heading to the Genesis Championship but a second DP World Tour win later, he was comfortably into this week's event. Some would have rested on their laurels in preparation for this week but Katsuragawa chose to play the Vantelin Tokei Classic in his homeland and took home another trophy. In two weeks he has jumped from 404th to 166th in the Official World Ranking and nobody will arrive at Yas Links with more confidence.

Looking Back - Genesis Championship

Despite a winning pedigree, form suggested Katsuragawa was not a favourite in Korea and so it proved with our players, with just 1.63% of you taking home the 202 points claimed by him.

Our man with the Edge Daniel Hillier finished in a tie for 11th, Favourite Si Woo Kim was in a tie for fourth and Form Horse Chacarra ended the week in a tie for 22nd.
