There are not many sportspeople who tinker in the search for perfection more than golfers.
From moves as extreme as changing clubs or ball to as subtle as slight alterations in grooves or loft, a golfer will do almost anything to find that 1%.
Eugenio Chacarra is no different and over the past few weeks he has been experimenting with putting with a glove on – a rarity in the professional game.
With a runner-up finish at the Hero Indian Open and a top ten at the Tulum Championship at PGA Riviera Maya on the Korn Ferry Tour, it certainly looks to be paying dividends, and Josh Antmann caught up with him to talk about it.
“It’s just trying stuff,” said Chacarra.
“I feel like putting with the broom, when I hit bad putts my left hand just moves a little and it’s just a mental thing. The glove is helping me to think to leave my left hand a little firmer.
“We tried it in India and it worked well so it’s been good.
“It’s also easier, I don’t need to take it out.”
