The Bahrain crowds were treated to an amazing ace and very nearly saw another one on the second day of the 2025 Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship.
Here is everything you need to know from round two at Royal Golf Club.
Great entertainer Larrazábal makes ace
Pablo Larrazábal is known for putting on a show for the crowds and he certainly did that on Friday as he holed his tee-shot at the second for an awesome ace. The Spaniard holed from 192 yards using a six iron before getting the celebrations under way. "We planned a three-quarter six iron, and it never left the flag," he said. "It’s great to suddenly see the ball go in."
Reed goes close at the 16th
Patrick Reed's tee-shot at the par-three 16th got a generous kick on its way to the green and nearly ended up going in for the second hole-in-one of the day. Instead, he was happy to settle for a close-range birdie.
Tarren takes over at the top
Callum Tarren did not get off to the best of starts on Friday, surrendering bogeys at the first and fourth to undo some of the good work done in Thursday's flawless 64. But he bounced back in style, birdieing seven of the next ten holes to reach 13 under par and open up a two-shot lead at the halfway mark. Tarren said: "I got off to a shaky start today, but I knew I was playing good golf so I just stayed patient. A few bounce-back birdies, and I played really solid again. So just more of that and see what happens."
Aphibarnrat's extraordinary eagle
Sit back, relax and enjoy watching this outstanding shot from Kiradech Aphibarnrat at the eighth. His approach took a hop and a skip before jumping into the hole for an eagle two.
Colsaerts' remarkable read sends crowd wild
Nicolas Colsaerts saved his best until last as he trickled in his difficult 35-foot birdie putt at the 18th, and the crowd absolutely loved it...
