World Number One Tiger Woods has continued his excellent form at the JBWere Masters at Kingston Heath in Melbourne, regaining his place on the top of the leaderboard halfway through the second round.
Woods burned through his front nine in 33, picking up shots at the first, second and sixth and is on nine under, one shot clear of the men he shared the overnight lead with - Australia's James Nitties, who is two under for the day through eight, and South African Branden Grace, who also has carded two early birdies.
A sizzling second round 67 sees American Jason Dufner as the clubhouse leader at seven under, where he is joined by Cameron Percy and Greg Chalmers, who are still out on the course.
Dufner sits at seven under overall after carding a 70 around the 6455-metre sandbelt layout on Thursday.
Dufner did his best work early in his round, racing to the turn in 31 on a front nine that included five birdies. He got to nine under before dropping two shots late including a bogey at the last when he three putted from 15 metres.
"All in all, it was a pretty good day, a 67 on this golf course is a pretty good score," said Dufner
"It's fantastic to come all the way over here to play golf and have a chance to win this tournament.
"It's a great tournament, one of your bigger tournaments especially with Tiger being in the field and any time you can measure up against the game's Number One it shows you where you're at."
Goggin, whose 68 was the best of the afternoon rounds on Thursday, would have been hoping for something better than his 70, which comprised 16 pars and two birdies, on Friday morning.
The 35 year old is nevertheless well placed to wreak havoc over the weekend.
Right alongside Goggin is Hall, the reigning Victorian Open champion whose simple game plan was to "keep the ball on the fairway" and Villegas, a 20 year old from Colombia who's trying hard to emerge from the shadow of his older brother, the charismatic US PGA Tour star, Camillo.
"It gets annoying sometimes when all they ask is about the brother and he's the brother and you're the brother, but I've just got to deal with it and get better and play good and hopefully one day they'll say, he's my brother," said Villegas.
