Grant Forrest mixed a recently added driver with an old faithful putter as he excelled at both ends of the bag en route to victory at the Open de España presented by Madrid.
The Scot added a Titleist GTS4 driver to the bag at the Turkish Airlines Open in April and he used that to good effect at Real Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, gaining 0.85 strokes on the field to finish 13th in Strokes Gained Off the Tee.
At the other end, Forrest has long used a blade putter and while he switched to a mallet Scotty Cameron Tour Only 3.5 earlier in the season, the experiment lasted just two events.
He is now back to using a blade and his Titleist SC Newport 009 M helped him gain 1.49 strokes on the field putting, leaving him ninth for Strokes Gained Putting in the Spanish capital.
The 33-year-old has had his Titleist 620 MB irons in the bag since the 2021 Austrian Open and combined those six to nine irons with Titleist 620 CB from three to five irons, which he has had since the Turkish Airlines Open.
Forrest also carries a TaylorMade Qi4D three wood, a TaylorMade Qi35 seven wood and Titleist Vokey SM11 wedges.
