We take a look in the bag of 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic champion Tyrrell Hatton.
January is often the time when many professionals fiddle with their equipment but, as has been the case for most of his career, that is not Tyrrell Hatton's way.
Regular followers of this column may remember that we noted after his win at last season's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship that not only did his set-up not change hugely year-to-year, it is largely the same as when he first came out on the DP World Tour in 2010.
The only change in his set-up last week compared to his win in Scotland was the return of the seven wood in place of a three iron, although this may well reflect the switch away from links golf.
He went with the same set-up last year at Emirates Golf Club and the only changes from 12 months ago in specific equipment come in the shape of his three wood and 60-degree wedge.
He has switched from a PING G430 Max three wood to a PING G440 Max - retaining 15 degrees of loft - while he has changed his lob wedge from a Titleist Vokey SM9-WW Proto to a Titleist Vokey SM10.
Hatton's victory this week took him level with Jon Rahm with five Rolex Series wins, moved him to the top of the Race to Dubai Rankings, Opening Swing Rankings and European Ryder Cup Qualification and also took him to eighth in the Official World Golf Ranking.
You could say that is a pretty ringing endorsmeent of if it aint broke, don't fix it.
