Tickets for the 2025 Volvo China Open go on sale March 7 with a variety of exciting viewing options available for spectators to enjoy the 30th edition of the country’s national golf championship.
With the tournament set to tee off April 17-20 at Shanghai Enhance Anting Golf Club, tickets and VIP packages are available online from Maoyan Entertainment (maoyan.com), Juss Sports APP and Volvo World Mini Program.
From February 28 at 15:00 (Beijing time) to March 2, an exclusive early-bird sale will provide a 40 per cent discount on general admission tickets.
The USD2.5 million tournament, organised by the China Golf Association, is returning to Shanghai for the first time since 2015 and is recognised as the highest-level men's professional golf tournament in the country.
The event is co-sanctioned by the China Tour and the DP World Tour and offers a winner’s purse of USD425,000. Adrian Otaegui of the United Arab Emirates is the defending champion.
Single-day tickets for the first and second rounds (Thursday and Friday) are 288 yuan.
Weekend tickets (Saturday and Sunday) are 558 yuan for each round.
For golf fans who take advantage of the early-bird discount starting February 28, the price for single-day tickets is 168 yuan for the weekday rounds and 328 yuan on the weekend.
There is also a four-day pass for golf fans to take in all the action, as well as a family package. Other packages include a Single Person Two-Day Pass, Single Person Four-Day Pass and Two Persons One-Day Pass.
Children aged 3-12 receive free admission when accompanied by an adult or guardian. Young people aged between 12 and 24, and seniors 60 or over are eligible for ticket discounts.
For golf fans looking for close-up views of the action and the opportunity to interact with star players, the Volvo Lounge is the ideal place to be.
Situated adjacent to the 18th green at Shanghai Enhance Anting, a spectacular design by famed golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr, the pavilion features unparalleled luxury and comfort to take in a close-up view of the players’ final moments and the crowning of the champion.
In addition, ultra-high-definition TVs around the pavilion ensure you won’t miss any of the action out on the course.
For 2,298 yuan for the weekday rounds and 2,998 yuan on the weekend, the price includes a culinary feast prepared by renowned chefs and photo and autograph opportunities with invited star players, making for a truly unforgettable national championship experience.
With a field of 156 players, the Volvo China Open features 96 players from the DP World Tour and 39 from the China Tour.
Twelve spots for the tournament, for nine mainland Chinese players and three non-mainland Chinese players, are also on offer through the Volvo China Open Qualifying Tournament. The 36-hole tournament takes place March 18-19 at Shanghai Enhance Anting Golf Club.
As part of the DP World Tour’s five-event Asian Swing, a top field is expected for the Volvo China Open in a Ryder Cup year where the players are trying to accumulate as many points as possible on the Race to Dubai.
Otaegui, who overcame a five-shot deficit to win last year’s event by a stroke at Shenzhen Hidden Grace Golf Club, will attempt to become the first player in tournament history to win back-to-back championships.
Others confirmed for the field include Frenchman Alexander Levy, a two-time winner of the tournament in 2014 and 2017.
Among those looking to keep the title on home soil is Li Haotong, who raised the trophy in 2016.
More big names will be confirmed for the field as the tournament approaches.
