Three-time winner Paratore secures ‘special’ DP World Tour return

Renato Paratore secured an immediate return to the DP World Tour following three victories on the 2025 Road to Mallorca.

The Italian won twice in as many weeks at the start of the 2025 HotelPlanner Tour season, before capping the perfect campaign with a third win to make sure of automatic promotion go Golf’s Global Tour.

Paratore first burst onto the scene eight years ago at the 2017 Nordea Masters, where he became the youngest winner on the DP World Tour since Matteo Manassero, finishing one shot clear of Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick.

Three years later, Paratore would pick up his biggest win to date, triumphing at the Betfred British Masters hosted by Lee Westwood, ending the week three shots clear of Dane Rasmus Højgaard.

After sealing a second DP World Tour title, the Italian remained at Europe’s top table through to 2024, however would lose his status at its conclusion, finishing 131st on the Race to Dubai, resulting in a drop.

Teeing it up on the 2025 Road to Mallorca, Paratore made just two cuts from his first six events, and arrived at the UAE Challenge, the first of back-to-back events in the United Arab Emirates, searching for form and looking to kickstart his season.

Following rounds of 69-68-64 at Al Zorah Golf Club, the 28-year-old found himself in Sunday’s final group alongside South African JC Ritchie and American Dan Erickson. After a hot start, which included three birdies and an eagle in his first five holes, Paratore would go on to taste victory for the first time in five years, finishing two strokes clear of Ritchie on 22 under par.

Paratore wasted no time in registering his second win of the season, which came the following week at the Abu Dhabi Challenge, where a closing four under par 66 saw him finish one-stroke clear of Spaniard Sebastian Garcia and Scotsman David Law.

Teetering on the edge of promotion, with a third victory enough to seal an immediate return to the DP World Tour, Paratore would have to wait until October’s Hainan Open, where he beat Maximilian Steinlechner in a play-off at Sanya Luhuitou Golf Club to confirm his return, 12 months after the disappointment of losing playing privileges.

“I had a lot of fun this year after winning three times. It’s been amazing,” he said.

“Winning is always a good feeling, and it was a long time since my last victory. The first win in Dubai was something really special.”

Back on Golf’s Global Tour, Paratore is relishing the chance to compete against some of the world’s best and, hopefully, add a third DP World Tour title to his resume.

“My game is in a good place, and I can’t wait to play this year,” he added.

“I played a lot of years on the DP World Tour, and I want to try and give my best every week and to try add another win next year.”

Paratore has teed it up twice so far on the 2026 Race to Dubai, coming in the first two events of the season at the BMW Australian PGA Championship and Crown Australian Open.
