Just a day or so on from the DP World Tour’s hilarious ‘influencer training’ sketch, the art of special effects is on show in a piece of content that defies imagination.
Collaborating with viral transition star Nikolai Savic, world number three Rory McIlroy is seen teeing off the iconic eighth tee at Emirates Golf Club, with his ball travelling in the direction of a text graphic, with the words “You can’t transition a Golf Player…”
This is in reference to a comment by one of German-born Savic’s legion of followers on social media, challenging the content creator to take his skills in imaginative transitions to golf.
In the video filmed ahead of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, McIlroy’s ball strikes the graphic, which drops to the ground as if it was a parachute, before Savic is seen holding the ball in his hand and staring at the camera.
