Spaniard Juan Quiros seized the lead at the turn in the final round of the Cannes Mougins Masters as overnight leader Mike Harwood made a slow start.
Harwood took a two shot lead into the final round at Cannes Mougins but bogeyed the second hole then dropped another shot on the seventh to slip back to eight under par.
Quiros, playing in the group ahead, picked up shots on those same holes to move one ahead at the turn on nine under par, as the diminutive Spaniard chases his fourth European Senior Tour title and first since 2008.
Paraguay’s Angel Franco joined him on nine under par through 12 holes after birdies on the fifth, seventh, eighth and 11thholes.
Order of Merit leader Peter Fowler is also enjoying a fine round, negotiating the first 15 holes in five under par to move to six under par and into the frame for his seventh consecutive top ten finish.
