Golfclub Schloss Ebreichsdorf brought European Tour First Stage Qualifying Sections A to C to a close with 97 players progressing through to Second Stage.
420 players took part at the opening Qualifying School venues across Austria, England, Germany and Sweden with players from five different countries prevailing.
Callum Fife hit the opening tee shot of the 2019 European Tour Qualifying School at The Players Club but it was Kiwi Daniel Hillier who triumphed at the Bristol course. Hillier recorded rounds of 64-68-69-66 for a 13 under par total and was one of 20 players, including Staysure Tour winner Magnus P Atlevi and amateur Sam Broadhurst – son of two-time Staysure Tour Number One Paul – to progress from First Stage Europe Section A The Players Club.
Finland’s Lauri Ruuska topped the leaderboard at the end of day four at First Stage Europe Section B Fleesensee. Ruuska shot rounds of 70-69-65-67 for a 17 under par total to qualify for Second Stage alongside 22 other players.
Nothing could separate Björn Hellgren and Jesper Svensson as the pair shared the spoils at First Stage Europe Section B Arlandastad. The Swedish duo were nine shots better off than their closest rival as they topped the leaderboard at 11 under par. 15 players progressed from Arlandastad, including ten Swedes, who prospered on home soil.
Great Britain and Ireland’s 2017 Walker Cup player Jack Davidson won at First Stage Europe Section C Stoke by Nayland. The Welshman recorded rounds of 66-70-71-66 for an 11 under par total and progressed to Second Stage alongside 19 other players.
Marcus Helligkilde reigned triumphant at First Stage Europe Section C Ebreichsdorf following rounds of 67-62-70-71 to sign for a total of 18 under par. The Dane shot up the leaderboard with a ten under par second round and secured top spot during the final 36 holes to take the spoils in Austria. Helligkilde was one of 22 players at Ebreichsdorf to seal their place for Second Stage.
