After enjoying the sweet taste of victory last week at the EURASIA CUP presented by DRB-HICOM, Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood both put their palates to the test as they enjoyed the culinary delights of rising celebrity chef Tom Sellers ahead of this week’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.
The two Ryder Cup legends took time out from their busy schedule, having flown straight in from Malaysia where they helped Darren Clarke’s European team to a 18½-5½ victory over Asia, to join English tennis legend Tim Henman for a tasting session at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
Cooking up a storm in the famous falcon-shaped clubhouse was Tom Sellers, a Michelin-starred chef who is fast making a name for himself as one of the finest young chefs in the world, as title sponsors HSBC strive to make the opening event of the Desert Swing more than just a golf tournament.

His London restaurant, Restaurant Story, received its first Michelin star just five months after opening and he brought his talents to the golfing arena as he introduced his Golf Story – a menu of themed treats which will be served in the public village throughout the week of the tournament.
Sellers’ food received glowing praise from Poulter, Westwood and Henman and the sporting stars were quick to register their requests for a table at Restaurant Story, hoping they will be afforded the luxury of skipping the seven-month waiting list!
