Home hope Louis Oosthuizen was delighted to keep his card clean as he produced the lowest round of the week so far on day two of the Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player.
The 2010 Open Championship winner fired six birdies in a flawless 66 on Friday to get to within two shots of leader Alex Noren's halfway total.
Oosthuizen sits on six under alongside countrymen George Coetzee and Jaco van Zyl, and Chris Wood and Fabrizio Zanotti.
The 34 year old, who opened with a level-par 72 on Thursday, reached the turn in 33 on day two after picking up shots at the fourth, sixth and ninth.
I'll take a lot out of this round today with no bogeys -Louis Oosthuizen
And Oosthuizen made the dream start to his back nine, making gains at the tenth and 11th before notching another birdie at the 17th.
Oosthuizen was pleased to post a bogey-free round. He said: "Yesterday I made stupid bogeys on the card. Whenever I had a birdie, I made a bogey. I couldn't get going.
"It was a while since I've made a bogey-free round. I'll take a lot out of this round today with no bogeys.
"It was tough out there. I hit the ball well. I enjoy playing in a little bit of breeze, and shaped the ball a bit more.
"Whenever I had a good opportunity for birdie, I took it. You have those days and hopefully I can just build on this.
"I love this place. I love coming back here. It's great playing on a great golf course."
