Rising star Martin Couvra is relishing the opportunity to maintain his fine start to his rookie season on the DP World Tour at the Magical Kenya Open presented by absa.
The Frenchman arrives for his debut appearance at Muthaiga Golf Club with back-to-back top fives in Bahrain and Qatar prior to the one-week break in the International Swing.
Coupled with a top ten at the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa at the end of last year, he has made a quick transition to golf’s global tour since graduating from the HotelPlanner Tour.
Having turned professional at 20 in September 2023 - days after winning as an amateur at the Challenge de España - he has continued to showcase his potential, climbing to a career-high 271st in the Official World Golf Ranking earlier this month.
"I really like the life on Tour," said Couvra, who is one of nine French players in this week's field.
"I’m happy to be here, happy to play some great golf courses and to be part of the French team with a lot of great guys. I’m very happy."

Before joining the paid ranks, Couvra won the South African Stroke Play Championship, the Proudfoot Trophy and the South African Amateur Championship in the 2023 season.
As such, he is feeling comfortable in Kenya despite the new surroundings as he looks to climb the Race to Dubai Rankings from his current standing of 22nd.
"It’s my first time in Kenya, it’s really nice. It looks like South Africa, and I love it there," he added.
Despite his inexperience at this level, the 22-year-old feels the continued work he is putting into his game back at home is paying off.
"I played well the last couple of weeks," he said. "I’ve worked a lot with my team in France and at the tournaments.
"I try to do my best every week and I’m looking forward to this week.
"I have my caddie here this week. I worked with my coach last week so I’m feeling good. I feel really good here. I’ll just do my best and that’s it."
