Stuart Manley was heading towards his maiden European Challenge Tour title as the Welshman extended his lead to three shots midway through the final day thanks to three birdies on the front nine at Kytäjä Golf in Hyvinkää.
That appeared to open the gates for the chasing pack but those gates were firmly shut again when Manley picked up a shot at the opening par five, the third, before two more at the par four fifth and the par five seventh.
That left him three shots clear of the field on 20 under through ten holes, with François Calmels close behind on seven under, alongside Jens Fahrbring, as the Frenchman chases a third victory this season which would immediately secure him European Tour status.
Englishman Andrew Johnston, a graduate from the 2011 season, was making a charge as he was four under through 12 holes and 16 under for the tournament, leaving him in tied fourth place alongside José-Filipe Lima.
