The leaderboard had an unfamiliar look, four into one almost went and players tried their hand at commentary on day three of the 2026 Magical Kenya Open presented by absa.
Here is everything you need to know from Moving Day at Karen Country Club.
First-time winner in prospect
The stage is set for a first-time DP World Tour winner for the third consecutive year at this event. Following Darius van Driel's 2024 win and Jacques Kruyswijk last year, the top eight on the leaderboard at the end of Saturday are all seeking to open their account. Casey Jarvis and Angel Ayora shared the lead on 17 under par with Hennie Du Plessis and Davis Bryant one behind, Francesco Laporta at 15 under and Ricardo Gouveia, Jacob Skov Olesen and Nathan Kimsey a further shot back. Ryan van Velzen and Aaron Cockerill were at 13 under along with Antoine Rozner, with the Frenchman's three titles making him the only previous winner in the top ten. Ayora said: "It would be amazing but I said yesterday I'm going to try to enjoy it, try to have fun tomorrow, and we'll see."
Pablo takes the mic
Pablo Larrazabal fought valiantly on Friday in an effort to make the cut, ultimately missing out by one stroke. The likeable Spaniard instead did a stint with the DP World Tour's commentary team on Saturday - lovely to have you with us Pablo!

Kibugu enjoys his moment
Another player to visit the box was Kenya's own Njoroge Kibugu, Friday's unlikely headline act after making an eagle at the last to become the only home player to make the cut. Reflecting on his experience, he said: "It's been quite insane, been amazing having all the support. My phone was going off! I saw Justin Rose commented on one of the posts and that made my whole evening. It's pretty special, my parents are really happy - my dad's ecstatic. He's been all over the place." Kibugu won last month's SunDev Absa Invitational series at this venue on the Big Easy Tour but joked of his performance on the greens in Saturday's 74: "I think I forgot how to read them today!"
Kiradech goes close
Karen Country Club's par fours have offered a couple of driveable greens and even a slim chance of an albatross this week. After Ayora threatened the tenth hole off the tee on Friday, Kiradech Aphibarnrat went even closer at the 12th on Moving Day as his ball took a friendly bounce off the bank in front of the green and almost hit the pin.
