This week's break in DP World Tour action will give many of our stars a chance to relax and forget about golf for a few days - but not Kazuma Kobori.
The rising Kiwi star - who earned his place on tour by topping last season's PGA Tour of Australasia Order of Merit in the same year he won Player and Rookie of the Year honours - currently sits 93rd on the Race to Dubai with three made cuts from five starts in his maiden campaign.
But his focus this week is on the Ladies European Tour where he is caddying for sister Momoka at the PIF Saudi Ladies International.
It is not the first time he has caddied for his sibling, with Momoka having also returned the favour on the Korn Ferry Tour, and he is delighted to get the band back together.
“I’m just looking to help her out as much as possible,” he told the LET website. “I didn’t realise it was the biggest event on the schedule when I volunteered for this gig. I’m looking forward to the week, it should be fun.
“I wasn’t planning on touching a golf club anyway. My next event is in Kenya, so it wouldn’t make much sense for me to go back home. I thought I’d keep myself busy and she caddied for me in Chicago last year, so I’ve got to repay the favour.
“We started golf at pretty much the same time. She was definitely better early on; she probably is still better. She’s done very well with her game and is someone that I look up to. It’s great to see her do well.
“I think our parents are pretty stoked with our career so far, to say the least, but they haven’t had the opportunity to watch my sister play yet, so hopefully in the future they can come out to Europe and watch us play if the schedule aligns.”
This is not the first time a DP World Tour star has caddied for a sibling, with the most famous example perhaps being Francesco Molinari carrying the bag for brother Edoardo at the 2006 Masters.
