The inaugural Hainan Classic— a brand-new DP World Tour event boasting a prize fund of $2.5 million—will take place at Blackstone Course, Mission Hills Haikou from April 24-27, 2025 and will feature a stellar lineup of recent champions including South African Jacques Kruyswijk, Chinese star Haotong Li, Spanish rising talent Alejandro Del Rey, as well as American Johannes Veerman.
South African Kruyswijk, 32, is in outstanding form this season, having clinched his first DP World Tour title at the Magical Kenya Open in February, surmounting a seven-stroke deficit after 36 holes to win by two strokes with finishing rounds of 64-67. Just two weeks later, he finished second in a play-off at the Joburg Open and now sits sixth on the Race to Dubai Rankings.
Chinese star Haotong Li, 29, has climbed to seventh in the Rankings after winning his fourth DP World Tour title at the 2025 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. Li also recorded a tied ninth finish at the Porsche Singapore Classic, the first event of the tour’s Asian swing.
"I'm in great shape after some much-needed rest in China and a solid workout session. I'm really looking forward to the events in April," Li said.
Meanwhile, Spanish player del Rey, 27, added another impressive achievement to his resume with a win at the 2025 Ras Al Khaimah Championship. He also has two top-25 finishes this season, including a tied 14th in Singapore.
American Veerman, 32, captured his second DP World Tour title by winning the Nedbank Golf Challenge in December, and recently posted a tied 16th finish at the 2025 Ras Al Khaimah Championship.
Co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the China Tour, the Hainan Classic is the final event of the tour’s Asian Swing in 2025, and additional star players are expected to join the lineup as the event approaches.
