Branden Grace birdied the final two holes of his Joburg Open third round to move into a three shot lead.
The 23 year old Qualifying School graduate had birdied three holes in a row from the 13th before play was suspended on Saturday to join England’s Richard Finch in a share of the lead.
But while former Irish Open winner Finch finished 5-5 on the East Course at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club, Grace ended his round 3-4.
On 17 under he led by three from compatriot George Coetzee and Finch, with Michiel Bothma and Jbe Kruger a shot further back.
