Genworth Stats Pack - Day 1 Review

Almost a three hour delay due to high winds means the first round of the Africa Open will be completed on Friday morning. Jaco Van Zyl is the early leader following a tremendous round of 66. We analyse how he did it.

Jaco VAN ZYL -6

Course specialist Jaco Van Zyl opened with a tremendous round of 66 in the high winds. Over the 18 holes he converted one eagle and five birdies against a single bogey (on the Par 3 2nd hole). Looking at his Genworth Statistics he hit 13/15 fairways and 13/18 Greens in Regulation. He Scrambled 4/5 times (including a Sand Save) and took just 27 putts on the greens. The 33 year old South African golfer has a superb record over the East London links with finishes of tied 4th in both 2011 and 2012. He is well place to challenge for the African Open title for the third year in a row.
