England’s Matt Ford and South Africa’s Darren Fichardt set the pace early in the second round of the Shenzhen International.
Just beyond the half-way point of their rounds, Ford and Fichardt were on seven under par at Genzon Golf Club, one shot ahead of overnight leader Huang Wey-yi, who was yet to tee off.
Ford, yet to win in his first season on the European Tour but runner-up at last month’s Africa Open, made five birdies before dropping a shot at the 12th, a par three, for the second day, to sit alongside Fichardt.
Although Fichardt, four times a European Tour winner, birdied four of his first six holes, he also bogeyed a par three, in his case the eighth hole.
