Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald is set to compete in the Husqvarna British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo at The Belfry from August 27-30, 2026.
The former World Number One and two-time Ryder Cup winning captain has been a standout figure in European golf for over two decades and will tee it up on the iconic Brabazon Course for the third consecutive year.
Donald will again lead Team Europe in the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor having claimed back-to-back victories at Marco Simone in 2023 and Bethpage Black in 2025. The biennial contest will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year and Donald will look to become the first Captain to lead a Ryder Cup team to three consecutive victories.
Hosted by six-time Major Champion Sir Nick Faldo, this year’s Husqvarna British Masters promises another exciting week of world-class golf at a venue steeped in Ryder Cup history. The Belfry, which has hosted the biennial contest on four occasions, provides a fitting backdrop for Donald.
"The Belfry holds a special place in British golf and Ryder Cup history, and I’m thrilled to be competing at the Husqvarna British Masters for the third consecutive year,” he said.
“The support from the crowds over the last couple of years has been brilliant and the energy really lifts you. I’m looking forward to another fantastic week on home soil.
“Sir Nick has had a great influence on this tournament and every time I come back, it feels bigger. I can’t wait to get back to The Belfry and experience it all again.”
This year’s event marks the start of the Back 9, the second phase on the DP World Tour's Race to Dubai schedule, with increased Rankings points on offer throughout.
The Husqvarna British Masters has a rich legacy as one of the DP World Tour's most historic events. This year's tournament will be the 23rd event held at The Belfry as part of Golf’s Global Tour, with the Sutton Coldfield venue first hosting the Lada English Golf Classic in 1979, won by the late Seve Ballesteros.
