It is one year and one week since Nicolas Colsaerts claimed his first victory in seven years and a bogey free 66 in round three of the 2020 Italian Open has put him right in the mix for another.
Last season's victory at the Amundi Open de France was an emotional one for the big hitting Belgian, who had been battling to hit the heights that made him one of the heroes of the Miracle at Medinah in 2012.
He has had just one top ten since that win in Paris but heads into the final round in Brescia just four shots off the lead and full of confidence.
"I’m pretty happy I kept on going with the same trend as yesterday except for those couple of hiccups," he said.

"It’s funny, I must like the month of October and soggy conditions, it was a bit windier today. I’m slowly getting a hold of the course which is good going into the weekend.
"I don’t think my strategy changes much, we all know the real par is four under here which is how the scores have been showing early in the week. There is a very low one out there - maybe not today, it was a bit windy early on although it calmed down in the end.
"The plan is just to keep doing what I’m doing."
Alongside Colsaerts at 15 under was Sebstian Heisele, who is going in search of a first European Tour victory at Chervò Golf Club.
The German came home in 31 with an eagle on the last to put himself in contention but he is keeping everything in perspective as he looks to improve on a best European Tour finish of third at the 2017 KLM Open.
"I haven’t necessarily come too close to a win and I haven’t regularly been in contention to do so, so I’ll just go into tomorrow and try and improve on my best finish," he said. "If that means a top three then we’ll just try and go on from there.
"I’m very pleased with my work so far - I haven’t played very much since we got back playing. Hopefully I can enjoy being in a good position tomorrow and see where it takes us and enjoy the week.
"I need to just keep at it, there are a lot of birdies out there and I’ll need a low one on my side tomorrow."
