Australian Greg Chalmers is the leader out on the course at the halfway point of the third round at the 2009 JBWere Masters being contested in fine, warm conditions at Kingston Heath.
After starting the day with a share of second place at minus seven, the 36 year old left hander picked up four shots on the front nine to be out in 32.
At 11 under he leads by one from World Number One Tiger Woods and Jason Dufner who, much as Chalmers did, picked up four strokes early before giving one back at the ninth.
Chalmers has been super steady - splitting fairways, hitting greens and giving himself a succession of birdie putts, two of which he managed to sink from long distance.
It has just not been happening for Woods, who started par, birdie, bogey - just his second of the tournament so far - before a run of six straight pars to the turn to be out in 36.
Dufner's hot run started when he knocked his approach at the par four third to half a metre for birdie and he snaffled another at the following hole when he chipped in from a greenside swale.
The 32 year old's third birdie in four holes at the sixth gave him a share of the lead at ten under with Woods, who was treading water.
They were joined briefly by Chalmers in the group ahead when he birdied the par three eighth to move three under for his round.
Dufner won the lead outright with a birdie at the eighth but it was only momentary, for up ahead, Chalmers coaxed a long birdie attempt into the cup at the ninth to move also to 11 under.
James Nitties picked up two shots on the front nine to move to minus nine and he is holding down fourth place by two shots from New Zealand's Tim Wilkinson and Francois Delamontagne of France.
Wilkinson was five under for his round through 16 holes and Delamontagne four under through 15.
