With six events gone on the 2016 Road to Oman, we take a look back on some of the highlights of the season so far, and the moments of individual brilliance that have caught the eye.
Nairobi was our first stop of the season, with South African Danie van Tonder memorably chipping in on his way to finishing in a tie for 12thplace at the Barclays Kenya Open.
England’s Jordan Smith, the current leader in the Road to Oman Rankings, went wire-to-wire for a maiden Challenge Tour title at the Red Sea Egyptian Challenge Presented by Hassan Allam Properties, sealing victory with a perfect tee shot on the par three 16thin his final round.
At the Turkish Airlines Challenge, Clément Sordet’s successful push for a second Challenge Tour win was boosted by holing his approach for eagle on the first hole of his third round, while a week later Pep Angles was millimetres away from a hole-in-one at the Montecchia Open by Lyoness.
And last week at the D+D REAL Czech Challenge, Australia’s David Bransdon produced a moment of brilliance when he holed out from the greenside bunker.
