Casey Jarvis recorded a career-first on day one of the Alfred Dunhill Championship as he carded three successive twos as part of a stunning fightback following a sticky start.
The first two holes did not go according to plan for the 21-year-old South African, who opened with a bogey on the tenth before making a double bogey at the 11th.
But he bounced back in style, getting the shots straight back with a birdie at the 12th and an eagle on the 13th.
And the comeback continued on his back nine as an eagle and two birdies saw the home favourite go two-two-two from the fifth hole on his way to an opening 65.
Jarvis is no stranger to Leopard Creek Country Club, having enjoyed great success there as an amateur, and he was happy with his achievement on Thursday.
He said: "I said to my caddie after I marked my third two on the scorecard that I hadn't done that before so it was pretty cool to do that.
"I was aiming left edge of the green on the seventh and I wasn't trying to make a birdie but it went in.
"I just got off to a bit of a tough start today but made a nice putt to actually save double bogey and then kind of just told myself 'let's do this now'.
"I played lovely out there, was really solid today.
"I've obviously had a lot of success here as an amateur and kind of get here and try and play the game I played here back then and it seems to have worked."
