A look in the bag of Joburg Open winner Calum Hill.
More often than not in this column, we are focusing on the minutiae of changes in set-up: a loft alteration here, a shaft change there or a single club that makes all the difference.
But in the case of Calum Hill's play-off victory at Houghton Golf Club we are dealing with an almost total revamp of the entire bag.
The Scot had been a Ping player all of his DP World Tour career but became a free agent in the off-season and that ushered in a raft of changes, with his Ping G440 Max three and five woods and his Vokey SM10 WW lob wedge the only surviving clubs from 2024.
At the top of the bag, he has switched his driver from a Ping G430 Max 10K to a Titleist GT2, while his four to nine irons have gone from Ping Blueprint S Titleist T100s.
He has also completed the set of Vokey SM10s in his wedges, switching out his Ping Blueprint S pitching wedge and his Ping S159 gap and sand wedges.
The shortstick has also changed from a Ping PLD Tyne to L.A.B Golf Link 1 but his 2021 Titleist Pro V1 X ball has stayed the same.
The equipment used by calum Hill for his victory at the Joburg Open:
Driver: Titleist, GT2
Three and five wood: Ping, G440 Max
Four to nine iron: Titleist, T100
46, 50, 54 and 60 degree wedges: Titleist, Vokey SM10
Putter: L.A.B Golf, Link 1
Ball: Titleist, Pro V1 X (2021)
