Thomas Björn made an excellent start to his final round at the BMW International Open to move into the lead at Golfclub München Eichenried.
The 42 year old Dane started one behind the leading trio of Ernie Els, Alexander Levy and Alex Noren, but followed a birdie at the third with a 20 foot gain
at
the fourth to leapfrog all three.
At 16 under par Björn led by one from Open Champion Els as well as Levy and Noren – both of whom train at European Tour Destination Terre Blanche in France – as all three started with three consecutive pars.
English pair Matthew Baldwin and Paul Waring were tied for fifth
on
14 under, while home
favourite
and 2008 winner Martin Kaymer was still far from out of it at 13 under with 12 holes remaining.
