Attractive Fringe Program in the Public Area

While high-class golf is being played on the fairways and greens at the 2004 BMW International Open, the Public Area invites everyone to meet for a well-earned break, have a refreshment or play a game.

On the 18 holes of the Championship Course at Golfclub München-Nord Eichenried, John Daly, Retief Goosen, Sergio Garcia, Padraig Harrington, and several other international stars will try to obtain the winner's prizemoney of € 300,000 and – as far as European players are concerned – the last points for the Ryder Cup Team Europe from August 26th to 29th, 2004.

At the BMW International Open, people interested in golf have the rare opportunity to accompany the stars on their rounds and watch them play from nearby. Once more, this is going to attract thousands of spectators to Golfclub München-Nord Eichenried. Still, it's not only the eagles and birdies of the star players that draw attention but also what goes on beside the course.

The Public Area offers an attractive program on all four tournament days.

As in the years before, all visitors are invited to join the Putting Competition of the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, which offers lots of prizes to win.

At the DekaBank stand, visitors can chip at swimming greens from a footbridge. The best players are rewarded, as the slogan "Win great prizes at a stroke" tells.

Several times every day, a popular anchor of Antenne Bayern radio holds interviews with prominent guests, players and organizers at the big scoreboard. The program also offers latest news on the tournament, current events and the best-known players' performances. In addition, Antenne Bayern raffles out a golf trip to Australia worth € 6,000.

On the driving range, Emirates Airlines offers valuable prizes in a contest on all four tournament days.

Parents who wish to follow the players or visit the Public Area need not worry about their children. Once again, optimal care for the kids will be ensured. All day long, children can play, meet, and occupy themselves while being looked after by well-trained staff. Of course, group activities and little competitions will also be offered.

At the mobile BMW Bike Parcours, high-tech bicycles from the new BMW Bike Collection can be tried out every day.

At the BMW stand, there's also the opportunity to drive around one of the world's famous Formula 1 racetracks in a WilliamsF1 BMW – well, a driving simulator, of course.

To the visitors' culinary desires, the Paulanergarten will cater as well as in recent years. Seated next to the scoreboard and a new panorama screen, guests can enjoy Paulaner beer specials as well as Bavarian and international refreshments, quality food and drinks. Next door, the Duval-Leroy Bar offers a glass of Champagne and high-class snacks.
