Adrian Otaegui produced a stunning 62 to surge into a one-shot lead at the 2026 Volvo China Open.
The Emirati began the day five shots adrift of overnight leaders Bernd Wiesberger and Shaun Norris, but he lurked ominously thanks to an eagle, four birdies and a bogey on his front nine to sit three off the pace.
Wiesberger was the one in front, however, his scoring stalled on the back nine and Otaegui reeled in the Austrian with four birdies to set the clubhouse target of 16 under.
A bogey at the 15th meant Wiesberger finished his third round one adrift, with Norris a further three shots back at 12 under.
"It's been a very nice day. You know, bit of everything," Otaegui said. "Started very nicely with a very good birdie on the first.
"Then a beautiful hole out on hole number four for eagle, and then just played very well on the front nine, finished the front nine with three birdies for five under. And then I just kept going, made some very nice birdies on 10 and 11, both three footers.
"Then a very nice chip-in on 16. And 17, 18 were a bit of a fight, but I managed to save a very nice par on 17, which almost felt like a birdie.
"It was a very, very positive day."
The leading pair opened up with a birdie to improve to 13 under before Norris bogeyed the next to slip from the summit.
Wiesberger doubled his advantage at the top with a birdie at the third, however, Otaegui was on the charge.
After also starting with a birdie, he holed out for an eagle two at the par-four fourth to reach double figures, only to drop a shot at the next.

Otaegui got hot with the putter to finish the front nine by rolling in a hat-trick of birdies to climb into a share of second at 12 under.
Wiesberger, though, was three clear following another gain at the fifth before Otaegui cut the deficit on the back nine.
He made it four birdies in a row with huge putt at the tenth and a fifth in succession followed after a brilliant approach into the 11th.
That pushed the 33-year-old up to 14 under, but Wiesberger nudged two ahead thanks to a birdie at the eighth, although he reached the turn with a bogey.
The Austrian regained his two-shot lead when a bunker shot led to a birdie at the tenth, but Otaegui joined him at the summit with birdies at the 16th and the last to sit in the clubhouse at 16 under.
Otaegui's finish piled the pressure on Wiesberger, who then missed a par putt from close range at 15th to drop one behind.
Wiesberger parred his way home to sit in solo second, while South African Norris carded a level-par 71 after bogeying immediately after each of his four birdies in round three.
First-round leader Alejandro Del Rey is one back at 11 under in fourth, while Frenchman Antoine Rozner and Sweden's Mikael Lindberg both signed for 65 to reach ten under.
Italian Guido Migliozzi is one adrift in seventh and home pair Zihao Jin and Bo Peng are alongside Spain's Angel Ayora, American Davis Bryant and Englishman Nathan Kimsey at eight under.
