Everything you need to know from round two at Al Hamra Golf Club.
Late heroics kept Marcus Armitage in front while some former champions impressed on day two of the 2025 Ras Al Khaimah Championship.
Here is everything you need to know from round two at Al Hamra Golf Club.
Tasty chip helps Armitage keep his nose in front
Runaway first-round leader Armitage found himself in a three-way tie at the top as he made his way to the 17th tee but it looked like he might face a battle to stay there when he sent his tee-shot into the right rough. A marvellous recovery shot gave him a good chance of getting up and down from the rough around the green, but he went one better, chipping in from ten yards for a bonus birdie to take the outright lead on 11 under par. And the Englishman also birdied the last - after almost spinning in his approach shot - to move two clear at the halfway stage.
Defending champion puts on a show
Last year's winner Thorbjørn Olesen found himself standing over a tough birdie putt after missing the green at the par-three seventh. But he sent his 30-foot effort straight into the hole for a superb two.
Brown moves into contention thanks to big finish
Dan Brown made a huge move on day two, saving his best for last as he closed his eight-under-par 64 with back-to-back birdies to get to ten under. After bouncing back from his only bogey of the day on the 16th with an eight-foot birdie at the 17th, the 30-year-old finished off his round with an 18-footer to pull within two shots of the midway lead held by Armitage.
Gavins makes amazing ace
Former champion Daniel Gavins secured the second hole-in-one of his DP World Tour career at the seventh hole on Friday. The Englishman's tee-shot from 167 yards took a few hops before making its way into the hole for a memorable eagle. Check this out...
Harrington goes flag-hunting
Three-time Major Champion Pádraig Harrington produced a strong shot-of-the-day contender at the par-four ninth, going straight at the pin and setting up a tap-in birdie.
