Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship - Day three digest

Everything you need to know from Moving Day at Royal Golf Club.

A top-class chasing pack gathered behind the leader while some lengthy putts went in on day three of the 2025 Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship.

Here is everything you need to know from Moving Day at Royal Golf Club.

Tarren stays out in front

England's Callum Tarren heads into the final round with a one-shot lead as he goes in search of his first DP World Tour title. The 34-year-old had led by two at the halfway stage but was caught at the summit early in his third round before three birdies in four holes from the fourth took him four shots clear. Tarren then saw his advantage wiped out altogether as bogeys on the eighth, 11th and 12th dropped him back to 13 under par, where he had started the day. But he was never overtaken at the top on Saturday and safely parred his way home to keep his nose in front of a high-quality chasing pack one shot back. Those just behind him are Spain's Pablo Larrazábal, Italian Francesco Laporta and Englishmen Brown and Brandon Robinson Thompson.

Pablo's perfect putt

We didn't see many birdies at the tricky 15th on Saturday but this one from Larrazábal was an absolute beauty. He judged his 20-foot putt to perfection and began his celebration walk moments before the ball found the bottom of the cup.

Laporta makes extraordinary eagle

Laporta made a big early move as he sent his approach at the third to six feet before slotting in the eagle putt. The Italian benefited from a big kick forward just before the ball reached the green, giving it the pace to make its way towards the pin.

Robinson Thompson's impressive par save

Sitting just one shot off the lead at the time, Robinson Thompson appeared in danger of slipping further behind when he missed the green at the 15th. He was then faced with a 20-foot putt for par, which he nervelessly holed to stay in touch with the leader.

Campillo drains a monster

Jorge Campillo had an outside eagle chance from almost 50 feet on the long ninth, and he only went and holed it. Initially it seemed he had not hit his shot hard enough but it picked up the pace as the ball approached the hole and fell into the cup for a bonus eagle.
